Anyway - what a whirlwind weekend! PHEW! Sydney was only interested in the first package from Santa. Which I probably should have planned a little bit better. It was her Disney Princess Cash Register. She was done opening anything else after that one. So we opened hers for her throughout the remainder of the day. NOTE: 22 month olds don't care about Santa yet. Got it? THEY DON'T CARE!! Doesn't matter how pretty the wrapping, how beautiful the bow...they don't care yet. Next year...different story I am sure. We'll see!
So here is a list of Sydney's Favorite Christmas Gifts:
- Disney Princess Cash Register
- First Words Sticker Book
- Little People Doll House
- Ball Popper - Machine that shoots balls out and makes circus-like music
- Baby, Stroller and Diaper bag
I think she made out like a bandit! Santa and her Aunts and Uncles were very good to her. THANK YOU! Mommy's favorites are the gift items that didn't come with batteries. Jammies, dresses, mittens...you get the idea!
So we played, played and played some more with her new gifts. She's in heaven with her new toys. When we play with the Little People Doll House, we tend to lose track of the little pieces and I always like to ask her where they went. I like to ask her because no matter where they are, she always says "ahind you"! Which couldn't be any cuter! For those of you who aren't down with the Baby Lingo..."ahind you" is bl (baby lingo) for "behind you". I know...well that's a bit easier to figure out than some of her others. Let's see...for example: "Cupcake" used to be popsicle and now is "Cocker"...so we're getting there people...okay, we're getting there! :)
Ian seemed to enjoy Christmas. At 4 months old, again not really getting the whole concept, seemed to enjoy himself. Ian got a cd player for his lullaby cds, stacking rings toy, dump truck with blocks to dump and some other small toys to play with. Santa also brought him jammies and an outfit from Old Navy. He slept through most of the gift opening which I figured he would but I felt like I needed to wrap his gifts anyway. I think I wanted Sydney to realize that all the gifts were not for her. Like I mentioned earlier, she didn't really mind anyway.
So here I am back to work and feeling a little like..."Now What!?" You know what I mean when I say that? All this time and energy into planning this and now that it's over I am left with this deflated feeling. Sort of like the day after you get back from your honeymoon...you have nothing to obsess over now! Haha! That's okay...I am good at least until October when the stores start pushing Christmas again!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
